Probactiol Plus Protectair
Bacterial strains and scientific publications
The strains used in Probactiol® Plus Protectair have been the subject of numerous clinical studies. Lactobacillus acidophilus NCFM® belongs to the species Lactobacillus acidophilus. This strain is naturally present in our bodies and therefore safe for human use.
Bifidobacterium lactis Bi-07 belongs to the bifidobacteria; it is one of the groups of bacteria that occur most in the human body.
synergy between the two strains
The combination of Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium acts synergistically (*). (*) Leyer GJ, Li S, Mubasher ME, Reifer C, Ouwehand AC. Probiotic effects on cold and influenza-like symptom incidence and duration in children. Pediatrics 2009;124:e172-e179.
resistance to gastric acid and bile acids
Live bacteria are only effective if they survive in the environment of gastric acid. The strains used in Probactiol® Plus resist gastric acid and bile. They mostly survive the stomach during digestion.
of human origin
The effective bacteria in the body are of human and not animal origin. L. acidophilus NCFM® en B. lactis Bi-07 occur naturally in the human intestinal flora and are therefore excellently tolerated.
Easy to use
The high dosage of bacteria in each capsule permits easy ingestion: in most cases, 1 capsule a day is sufficient.
Probactiol® Plus is produced according to the highest quality standards to ensure its viability, stability and effectiveness. Probactiol® Plus is therefore preserved in dark glass bottles with a desiccant plug to protect the bacteria from light, air and humidity. Probactiol® Plus is preferably stored in the refrigerator to ensure the viability of the bacteria until the expiry date.
No known side effects
Probactiol® Plus does not have any known side effects.
1 capsule Probactiol® Plus contains no less than 25 billion live bacteria.
Active bacteria are often recommended during/after an antibiotics course.
In most cases, 1 capsule a day is sufficient. The timing is not important (preferably during/with the meal). The live bacteria in Probactiol® Plus Protectair resist gastric juice and bile acids. A significant number of these strains survive the passage through the stomach during meals. In practice, it is easiest to take Probactiol® Plus in the morning at breakfast with a glass of water. Probactiol® Plus Protectair is flavorless. If desired, it is possible to open the capsule and to mix the powder with a bit of yoghurt. When antibiotics are used, it is advisable to take Probactiol® Plus Protectair within two hours after taking antibiotics.
1 capsule of Probactiol® Plus Protectair contains 25 billion live bacteria: 12,5 billion Lactobacillus acidphilus NCFM® and 12,5 billion Bifidobacterium lactis Bi-07.
Probactiol Plus Protectair does not have any known side effects.
Probactiol® Plus Protectair can be used from the age of 12. For children under 12, there is a tailor-made solution called Probactiol® Junior.
